Kissing Cousins
These two chimpanzees were just unbelievable with their antics a couple of days before Hurricane Katrina struck. Thankfully the damage was minimal as far as lives lost at the Zoo. A total of five birds and none of the mammals. It was believed that the birds died of stress and not due to actual physical harm from the hurricane. There was a lot of flooding and it will take a few days/week to get the Zoo re-opened, but all in all we were blessed - not like our friends in Louisiana, Alabama and the Florida panhandle. Our hearts and prayers go to them... Dick & Sara
